Battlefield Bad Company 2 looks to turn up the volume on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the news that DICE will cut loose the first set of map packs for BFBC2 on March 30th , which happens to be the same date that the exclusive window will open for Xbox 360 users to be able to buy the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack.

It is estimated that this new map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will cost 800 Microsoft Points, while the first BFBC2 map pack will be free for VIP members. DICE claims that the decision to release this map pack at no charge has more to do with making sure that the customer has a fresh experience in order to provide proper value for the money that they invested in BFBC2. The bigger release is also an effort to prevent the segmentation that sometimes happens when map packs are offered for sale and some players buy them and others don’t. This makes sure that all players have access to the same maps.

IW has no control over how much their DLC costs, it's up to M$. That's why BC2's map-pack is only free for "VIP" members. Not to mention, MW2 shipped with 16 maps and now are releasing what 7 more? What did BC2 ship with, 5?

All the Vip Members are. Is people who bought a New BC2. I bought a new MW2 but yet still have to pay for maps that will just end up pissing me off. Do you see where Im going?

Because they probably got a sponsor for that map-pack just like Gears of War 2 did for their first DLC.

I'm not sure and I agree that they should have done something like this especially with all the complaints. The fact remains though that they shipped with the most MP maps any game has ever seen (I think).

agreed and i would rather have 5 well made maps in bf than maybe 1 or 2 well made maps that mw2 has to offer just sayin' because if you ask me and I'm sure many will agree the maps in mw2 are a joke

I have a friends list full of people who will say the exact opposite. There is a reason why it's sold so much and is still the #1 played game on XBL. They can't please everyone.

How are they pleasing the people who found out a way to create those hacked lobbies? They didn't purposely put that feature in there. They are not perfect and of course there are going to be glitches especially when you have over 25 million people playing your game.

The point is that they were all fixed in a timely fashion. Now, give me an actual feature in the game that is supposedly "ruining" it.

I don't have a problem with the Thermal and Tactical Insertion wasn't put in the game in the intention of nuke boosting....
